Reel Low Mower Restorations

I had a few questions regarding my wheels that I’m getting 3d printed so I thought I post abit more details on them

I had them designed to be close to the originals, but with a few areas made stronger. This makes all parts interchangeable with original parts.

As for the material used:

The wheels and caps are printed in PETG which is a durable material with good chemical and heat resistance. It is also UV resistant and provides the strength of ABS plastic.

The tyres are made from TPU, a polyurethane plastic that is flexible, oil and grease resistant, adhesive resistant and also UV resistant.

These wheels have been 3d printed locally

Wheel and caps made of petg and tyres from tpu, they have been designed to be a lot stronger then the originals

These wheels are a must for any sb rotary or 46 build

Have both early model caps and later model

Supplied as a complete set (bearings included) ready to mount

Scott Bonnar model 35

Thought I better get my scalp mower restored for the upcoming season

This is running the factory 201 Scott bonnar motor with a custom ignition system and my brand new 3d printed wheels, hubcaps and tyres

Latest restoration completed and returned back to its owner.

This was one sad mower when it came to me, cracked rails, worn top end and motor that wasn’t running.

Lucky for Mark, the mower came fitted with a 10 blade reel that was sand blasted painted in 2k red then sent off to Brisbane Cylinder Mower Specialist for a sharpen.

Thanks to George SB-FabandParts Mowpartsoz for supplying a billet clutch, clutch cone to sort out our top end.

OLDTIME Parts suppled us with a brand new catcher and deflector to replace the old rusty broken ones.

We reinforced the rails and welded to the cracks, replace the chassis bushes, then it was on to paint. Mark chose to go with the reel lows custom colour match for the original Scott Bonnar green, with red reel and charcoal accessories.

As mark had an exposed aggregate driveway, we decided to use a rear roller sleeve kit to quiet down the trip and prevent wear on the cast roller.

To finish it off, we made a custom reel low mower k**b.

“The Metallicutta”

Matt is a heavy rock guy and always has the speakers cranked when mowing, so what better to make a mower to match.

This one was painted in a black hammer with glitter mixed though so really pops in the sun.

Got all the usual parts replaced, billet clutch, bearing stainless front roller, chains.

We throw in some highlights with the height adjuster, pto thrust and deflector all in brass.

Sporting a Honda gp160 with a colour matched side cover and black fuel tank

14” solid model 45 restoration.

This 45 is going to be cutting buffalo, so it was fitted with a high cut roller bracket giving it the ability to raise the cutting height to 32mm.

As the owner was tall, we also decided to make some custom hand bars extensions to bring the bars up higher and in a upright position for comfortable mow.

Another Scott bonnar restored and back to it owner

This one we used a brand new predator NH150 motor and side chain cover from OLDTIME Parts

Specs as follows

Repainted in apple green hammertone
Frame reinforced
All new bearings
New corks

All the nylon bits replaced
New billet clutch

Thought it would be fitting to post up the latest build on Australia Day.

This is the Australian made Scott Bonnar model 35 rotary mower. This is a early model that came with the Australian made Villiers 7f motor.

This is painted in flame red hammertone with black powder coated accessories, all new bearings and belts

This unit is for sale for $3000 ono
