Pool water level dropping lately? 👀
With the dry season here and less rain around, a little water loss can be completely normal evaporation ☀️🌴
But how do you know if it’s evaporation… or a leak? Especially if there isn’t an obviously sign of a leak? 🤔
Before you panic, you can try the simple bucket test method to help tell the difference between evaporation and a possible leak.
Here’s how:
1️⃣ Fill a bucket with pool water about 3/4 full
2️⃣ Place the bucket on a pool step so the water inside the bucket is level with the pool water outside (sitting the bucket on the side of the pool is okay too)
3️⃣ Mark the water level inside the bucket and the pool water level on the outside of the bucket
4️⃣ Leave it for 24 hours (try not to swim during this time 😅)
5️⃣ Compare the water loss
✔️ If the pool and bucket water levels drop the same amount, it’s most likely evaporation
🚨 If the pool water drops more than the bucket, you could have a leak
If the bucket drops more than the pool… you might need a new bucket…
