Stay calm—understanding the situation and being a little prepared is more than enough.

Can we predict earthquakes in advance?

The honest truth is— Big NO!

No one can say exactly when, where, or how strong an earthquake will be.

But through research, past records, and observing fault-line movements, scientists can understand which regions may have slightly higher or lower risk.

What does the current analysis suggest?

-Sylhet has comparatively higher risk.

-Chattogram comes next.

-Dhaka is in a moderate-risk category.

These are just risk assessments, not predictions.
It does not mean earthquakes will definitely happen in these places.

So what should we do?

1- Keep a small emergency kit at home.

2- Make sure your family knows a few simple safety steps.

প্রতিদিন কত মানুষ আসে চট্টগ্রামে—
কেউ কাজের খোঁজে, কেউ চিকিৎসার প্রয়োজনে,
কেউ পরীক্ষায় অংশ নিতে, কেউ কোনো অনুষ্ঠানে,
আবার কেউ একটু ছুটি কাটাতে বা নিয়মিত জীবনের ব্যস্ততা থেকে বাঁচতে স্টেকেশনের খোঁজে।

এই আসা-যাওয়ার ভিড়ের মাঝেও একটা জিনিস সবার মধ্যেই একই— সবাই খোঁজে একটা পারফেক্ট থাকার জায়গা। একটা স্পেস, যেখানে ক্লান্তি কমে যায়,

ধরুন, আপনার বয়স এখন তিরিশের কোঠায়।
চাকরি বা ব্যবসা ধীরে ধীরে গুছিয়ে উঠছে। বিয়েও হয়ে গেছে, সংসারও বড় হচ্ছে।
শহরে সব ঠিকঠাকই চলছে—তবুও মাঝেমধ্যে মনে হয়,
একটু বুক ভরে নিঃশ্বাস নিতে হবে, একটু শান্তি দরকার, একটু নিজের মতো সময়।

গ্রামে তো একটা ছোট্ট জমি আছেই… আছে না?
কমবেশি সবারই থাকে।
মনটা চায় না—সেখানে একটা ঘর থাকুক?
যেখানে সপ্তাহে একদিন গেলেও মনে হবে,
“এই তো আমার জায়গা… আমার রুট।”

ভাবুন তো—

বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেলে কাজ শেষ করে রওনা দিলেন গ্রামে।
শুক্রবার সকালে ফজরের পর গ্রামের হাওয়া গায়ে লাগছে,
পাখির ডাক শুনে চা খাচ্ছেন বারান্দায়।
বাড়ির পেছনে পুকুরে জাল ফেলেছেন,
নাকি বর্শি ফেলে মাছ ধরছেন?
নামাজের আগে সেই পুকুরেই এক ডুব—ফ্রেশ একদম।
বাচ্চাটাও সাঁতার শিখে গেল।

জুমার নামাজ শেষে ফিরলেন,
বাবা বসে আছেন লিভিং রুমে, হাতে পত্রিকা।
মায়ের হাতে গরম ভাত—আলু দিয়ে মুরগি
শাক আর ভর্তার ঘ্রাণ।
পাশেই স্ত্রী, সন্তানরা উঠানে খেলছে—
মৃদু বাতাস বইছে টিনের চালের নিচ দিয়ে…
এই ছোট ছোট সুখগুলোই তো আসল জীবন।

এমন একটা ১০০০ sft-এর ঘর বানাতে কিন্তু এখন বিশাল খরচ লাগে না।
গ্রামের উপকরণ দিয়েই—ইট, বাঁশ, টিন, মাটি, আর ভালোবাসার পরিশ্রমে
একদম নিজের মতো একটা ঘর বানানো যায়।
চাইলে ধীরে ধীরে, টুকরো টুকরো করে।

যেখানে ফিরে গেলে মনে হবে—“আমার ঠিকানা।”
