Scientific name: Asparagus setaceus
Common name: Asparagus Fern
🌿 The asparagus fern has thin flattened branches that give it a busy appearance when it is young, but, as it matures, climbing stems up to 120 cm (4ft) long start to appear.
🌞 Light: Grow this plant in bright filtered light, avoiding hot summer sun, throughout the year.
💧Water: Water plentifully and feed with standard liquid fertilizer once every two weeks from early spring to mid autumn. Water sparingly during the winter rest period.
🌡Temperature: This plant enjoys normal room temperatures and will survive happily at 12C (55F).
💦Humidity: The plant is tolerant of dry air but prefers extra humidity if room temp exceeds 18C (65F). Stand the pot on a tray of moist pebbles to increase the humidity.
🖼Decorating Tip: Grow asparagus fern up the frame of an east or west facing window, where its delicate frond like branches will provide soft edging to the window frame, whilst still allowing plenty of light to enter the room.
