It's more like feelings, emotion, understanding, belief, passion, a lifestyle. 23/90 Architects think ‘architecture’ is beyond a typical profession. We believe every typical solution has lots of alternatives which yet to be discovered, which may change our known physical world. The global communication revolution virtually brings the world into a single slate. With plenty of benefits, sometimes we

forget our identity and mix it with cosmopolitan culture. We are not against it but that must not come through copying the West.

23/90 the name:
Each part of the planet has its distinct climate, culture, and context from where architecture must evolve. To take the architecture of Bangladesh to the world level, global identity is essential. And we proudly express our individuality to the world through our name. 23/90 is the global position of our practice i.e. (Latitude 23, Longitude 90)

We started with the name "matra & associates" in 2010. We regenerated as "23/90 architects" in 2014. Since then we completed over 150 projects of various sizes.

This project redefines urban living through stepped terraces, hanging gardens, and perforated fair-faced concrete screens, creating a breathable façade that filters light, air, and privacy. Warm wooden soffits soften the concrete mass, while integrated greenery transforms every level into a living edge.

A contemporary residential design shaped by its prominent corner location, creating a strong urban presence through layered terraces, exposed concrete volumes, and integrated greenery.

The project explores climate-responsive architecture with deep overhangs, shaded balconies, and naturally ventilated living spaces, ensuring comfort while maintaining a bold architectural identity.

Inside Nurul Ahad Residence | Noakhali

The project explores a porous spatial arrangement—framing light, air, water, and greenery through layered volumes and internal courtyards. Exposed brick massing anchors the house in its context, while concrete frames carve dynamic voids that invite movement and interaction.

Double-height spaces, cascading greens, and carefully positioned openings ensure cross-ventilation and soft daylight throughout the day—responding to the climatic reality of Noakhali while creating a calm, breathable living environment.

Architecture here is not just built form; it is light, shadow, texture, and transition.

A climate-responsive corner plot apartment designed to embrace light, air, and landscape. The large west-facing terrace acts as a protective shield against harsh afternoon sun, while the Sky Garden creates a serene green retreat above. Intelligent planning ensures smooth cross-ventilation, reducing heat gain and enhancing comfort naturally.

Nurul Ahad Residence | Noakhali

Rooted in a rural, green, and flood-prone landscape, this residence is shaped by simplicity, quiet monumentality, and climate responsiveness. Elevated living, shaded layers, and natural ventilation allow the architecture to adapt to nature...rather than resist it.

Set on a diagonally oriented plot at Jolshiri Sector 6, this residence posed a unique design challenge; protecting the inside from the harsh west sun through layered facades, while embracing the southern breeze flowing in from the lush green park nearby.

Situated beside the 40m wide avenue of Bashundhara, 'Baitul Aayat' harmonizes diverse living functions — from simplex and duplex apartments to a community mosque that brings people together.

A thoughtfully designed green buffer along the western edge negotiates between the busy frontage and the setting sun — ensuring both calmness and comfort within.

Located beside the busy Chashara road in Narayanganj, H House is a mixed-use project on a compact 2.25 katha triangular site. The design integrates duplex and simplex apartments with select commercial functions, exploring density, diversity, and adaptability within a constrained urban footprint.
