VERHAMME + DE VEL ARCHITECTEN streven naar een zuivere vormgeving door terug te gaan naar de basis. We hanteren een mix van pure geometrie met sobere- en natuurlijke materialen. We gaan op zoek naar een aangename ruimtebeleving en een maximale integratie van het gebouw/interieur in zijn omgeving. Voor renovatie-of verbouwingsprojecten is het uitgangspunt om gebruik te maken van de bestaande archi

tectuur. Door de originele structuur opnieuw zichtbaar te maken behouden we respect voor het oorspronkelijke karakter van het gebouw. Samen met de wensen van de klant zoeken we naar de ultieme symbiose.

First images of our design for a new residential project in the green residential suburb of Ghent: a 15-unit apartment building with an underground parking garage, designed to fit naturally into its surroundings. The upper floors in dark brickwork step back to soften the volume, while the corner opens up to a small public green space. We tried to create a calm, geometric and somewhat austere facade composition, that combines warm light brickwork with dark and finely detailed frames.

The environmental permit has been approved, and construction is now underway for this project in the Ghent region.

The building will house a sustainable agricultural company specialising in high-quality meat products, combining production spaces with a tasting room where visitors can discover and sample the products.

The architecture reinterprets the classic rural barn with a steeply pitched roof, creating a contemporary volume that integrates seamlessly into the surrounding green landscape. Sustainability is a key focus, with an efficient, future-proof design.

Renovation in the historic heart of Oudenaarde, along the banks of the Scheldt.

A former office building has been given a new identity, with respect for its context and history. The travertine façade draws inspiration from the symmetrical and refined compositions of 19th-century townhouses, so characteristic along the waterfront.

Materiality and proportion take center stage: a contemporary interpretation of classical architecture, where rhythm, balance, and a rich palette of materials come together. .architecten
