More paint stripping done this Sunday. We noticed that the underside had a lot of surface rust so that’ll have to come off as well. We expect 2 more Sundays of work and the exterior should be ready for its primer.

Sanding installation is now performing much better. Getting the exterior surfaces cleaned still takes time as it’s a white coat on top of the green one. But all the interior silver paint comes off quite easily.

As we now have our sanding installation hooked up the first pieces of the Ferret have been completely stripped of the old paint. Before we moved the chassis back tot the sanding spot, we managed to loosen the hinges securing the drivers hatch. After some heating, cooling and greasing they now move effortlessly. A full day was spent disassembling all of the parts of the opening mechanism of the hatch but in the end we managed to get all rods, bars and springs off.

A good Karcher+soap cleaning and the interior already looks a lot cleaner. With all the grease and grime gone we can now work in the interior without getting the garage floor dirty each time we get out of the hull.

Stripped the master break cylinder, pedals, gear shifter and the last two hatches. Engine and hull are now ready for a good cleaning.
