Duplex Loft Transformation — Brussels

A former paper factory reimagined as a contemporary duplex apartment on Avenue des Palais 320. The project reveals the strength of the existing structure—exposed brick, red steel beams, and generous volumes—while introducing a precise and minimal architectural language.

Natural light floods the open-plan living space through large steel-framed windows, enhancing the material contrast between raw industrial textures and refined insertions. A compact kitchen volume and a lightweight steel staircase define the space without interrupting its continuity.

Above, the duplex unfolds into a more intimate level, maintaining a direct relationship with the original structure.

The intervention extends to the roofscape, where a green roof and integrated solar panels embed the project within a sustainable, forward-looking approach.

An exercise in adaptive reuse—where past and present coexist through clarity, light, and proportion.

A contemporary interpretation of classic architecture.

For this integral renovation on Avenue de Golf, Rhode-Saint-Genèse, we reimagined the existing house through a careful balance of structure, light, and materiality.

Strategically placed new openings and windows transform the interior atmosphere, drawing natural light deep into the plan and reinforcing visual connections with the garden. The patterned oak parquet and restrained palette complete a composition where craftsmanship meets clarity — an intervention defined by precision, restraint, and spatial continuity.

Natural light takes the lead in this intervention at Chaussée d’Ixelles 280A, Brussels.
A series of skylights open the inside to the sky, washing the stairwell with shifting daylight and framing the passing weather above. The palette is deliberately restrained: warm pine flooring, lime-washed timber beams, and smooth mineral walls create a dialogue between tactility and clarity. Subtle integrated lighting completes the atmosphere, balancing softness and precision.

A project about quiet transitions and the poetics of light. ✨

🖤 Vertical Silence
This compact urban facade explores contrast, layering, and scale through a minimalist language. A monolithic black volume is punctuated by slender, full-height openings, while a vertical timber lattice creates a second skin—both sculptural and functional.

The slatted screen acts as a filter: modulating natural light, offering visual privacy, and animating the interior with shadows that shift throughout the day. Behind its simple geometry lies a careful calibration of proportion, rhythm, and urban alignment.

This intervention doesn’t seek noise—it aims for presence through quiet precision.

This project is a delicate negotiation between tradition and modernity, where the form whispers familiarity while the details speak of evolution. The pitched roof is a nod to archetypal dwellings, yet its ex*****on—sharp, precise, and framed in glass—elevates it beyond the expected. The base, in textured stone, anchors the structure, allowing the upper level to hover, its lightness accentuated by transparency and reflection.
Materials were chosen not simply for their aesthetic but for their dialogue with time. Stone, with its inherent weight and history, meets glass, which captures ephemeral moments of light and shadow. The upper floor, restrained and monolithic in its plastered finish, defies gravity with a cantilevered balcony, extending the living experience into the landscape.

Boundaries are deliberately blurred. The ground floor dissolves into the garden, its sliding glass doors erasing the threshold between interior and exterior. The pool, more than an amenity, acts as a reflective plane, doubling the architecture and grounding it in its surroundings. A singular tree punctuates the scene, positioned not by accident but by intent, offering balance to the composition.

This is not merely a house; it is an exploration of space, weight, and perception. It does not impose but rather reveals itself, shifting between solidity and openness, permanence and fluidity. It is, ultimately, an exercise in restraint—design that allows the landscape, the light, and the inhabitant to complete the architecture.

The project is a refined balance of mass and transparency, where a grounded stone base supports a light, glass-enclosed upper volume. A pitched roof recalls traditional forms, but its ex*****on is precise and modern. The material palette—stone, glass, and plaster—creates a dialogue between permanence and lightness.

Boundaries dissolve as floor-to-ceiling glazing merges interior and exterior, with the pool acting as a reflective extension of the architecture. A singular tree anchors the landscape, reinforcing the composition’s deliberate simplicity. The result is a home that is both rooted and weightless, defined by restraint, proportion, and light.
