A very dear friend came in with his Martin & Co D12 (1971) – a magnificent twelve-string that’s seen a few decades of music and memories.

The headstock had suffered some serious trauma — cracked in four places — and needed careful re-glueing.

Injecting Seccotine (fish glue) deep into the cracks with a wick tip — slow and precise work.

Clamping time! When it comes to headstock repairs, the rule stands: the more clamps, the better.

Two structural cracks near the soundboard hint at loose braces, and the neck will need a reset to restore proper saddle height and action. More pictures and posts to follow as this old soul gets its voice back.
