Maybe it’s just me but I can’t really stand it when people don’t use the correct words for certain types of wood flooring. Here in Belgium everything that looks like wood and is on the floor is called parquet, it drives me nuts. parquet flooring is a type of wood flooring made from small blocks or strips of wood which are laid to create a regular and geometric pattern. We inherited a cheap IKEA laminate floor in all our second floor rooms. Laminate flooring isn’t wood at all but a photo print of wood made out of synthetic matter. Boris replaced it yesterday with French pine, a solid wood floor plank. So most people who have a wood floor have planks. So that’s out of my system 🤣 Anyhow on this photo you can see the remains of the last bit of laminate we have, it will be covered with wool carpet next month 🥳

Our bedrooms were in desperate need of a few extra outlets as our rooms only had two in really odd places. I came up with panelling so we could hide the outlets in the wall. As soon as the shops open again I’m going on a hunt for carpet as my feet are cold because I’m turning into an old lady.

Another really satisfying client project finished. I hand painted this dressing for which was quite the job, 3 coats of paint in 2 weeks, but the result is just so beautiful. I used All White. The n**e wallpaper above the vanity is a linen canvas from The room still needs a mirror but so far so good. @ Lommel, Belgium

Boris and I are both lucky people, we can live off of our creativity and there isn’t a day in our lives that we are forced to work a job we don’t like - I really call that lucky. We were able to build so many wonderful things for ourselves and others in 2020. We celebrated our highs and we dealt with our lows - it’s nothing new really. 2021 isn’t going to be much different as the virus is still here, a new year doesn’t make that go away. So please be safe, consider your fellow man, be a good sport and all that. Good things WILL be coming. Happy old years eve ###
