WE turned 2 🤍

And I say “we” intentionally because there would be no RUIMTE without you, the designers and artists I work with, and EVERYONE who has been part of this journey.

When I started RUIMTE, I wanted to create more than a place for beautiful objects. I wanted to create a world around design - one where craftsmanship, stories, people and interiors come together.

Two years later, RUIMTE has taken so many different turns. We’ve created pop-ups and exhibitions, organised design events, worked on interior projects, collaborated with incredible people, and had the chance to see RUIMTE featured in the press and recognised by some truly wonderful organisations and people along the way.

Looking back, I honestly cannot believe how much has happened in these last two years.

But what makes me happiest is the feeling that RUIMTE is becoming what I always hoped it could be:
• A place for discovery.
• A place for beauty.
• A place for connection.
• And a space that allows me to do what I love.

So, to you, to me, to us, and to the lucky 2. 🤍

• A home that feels like us •

This project began with a simple question: how can a beautiful new house start to feel like home?

The house in Switzerland was brand new - no renovation to plan, no blank page to fill. What was missing was connection: a living space that truly reflected the family who lived in it.

Swipe through to see how we approached it - not with a full transformation, but with a phased plan built around what the family already loved.

Every home has its own story. Sometimes, all it needs is a fresh perspective to bring it together. If you’re wondering what could make your space feel more personal, I’d love to hear from you.

ALYS

One of the pieces that immediately caught my eye at this year’s Milan Design Week. ALYS by Lexavala plays with light, colour and texture in the most beautiful way.

Available in four colours, two finishes and with either a smooth or grooved diffuser - each combination creates a completely different expression.

Inspired by Denmark 🇩🇰

Last week, I shared the story of two places that left a lasting impression on me: Bornholm and Copenhagen.

As I was unpacking my suitcase, I realised how much of what inspires me there is already reflected in the objects I choose for RUIMTE.

Natural materials. Honest craftsmanship. Timeless design. Objects made to be used, loved and kept.

This small collection is inspired by the two rhythms of Denmark: from the calm, tactile spirit of Bornholm to the bold, people-centred design culture of Copenhagen.

Summer always does something to me.

It’s instant. Like a switch.

More energy, more ideas, more desire to create… and at the same time this need to slow everything down and just stay in it a little longer.

When I lived in the south of Spain, this feeling became even stronger. Life happened outside. We cooked, we ate, we stayed at the table for hours. Nothing rushed.

And every summer since, I come back to that same rhythm.

Cooking more. Inviting people over more. Opening w**e just because it’s warm outside. Letting the table become the centre of everything.

I also realised something over the years: the objects around us quietly shape these moments.

A plate, a glass, a cutlery set from my grandmother mixed with something new… it all changes how a simple meal feels.

For me, the table is a small daily ritual. A place where nothing has to match, but everything can belong.

Over the past few weeks, I noticed something that I find fascinating.

People are naturally drawn to different objects. Some stop in front of a textile piece, others are captivated by a chair, a vase, or a work on the wall. Their tastes, homes, and stories are all different.

Yet, when talking about these pieces, similar observations kept coming back. Certain qualities seemed to be understood almost instinctively, without any explanation.

It reminded me that good design and art communicate long before words are needed.

These are some of the pieces that sparked the most conversations recently, together with the qualities many of you noticed in them.

Thank you for sharing your observations with me. They often make me look at the objects differently too.

I’m delighted to announce a new brand joining RUIMTE - The Good Living & Co.

Founded by Monika Szyca-Thomas, the brand continues a family legacy that began with her great-grandfather and has been carried through generations in their workshop. To this day, each piece is made in that very same space by skilled craftspeople using traditional techniques.

At the heart of the collection is a deep appreciation for steel - a material valued for its strength, durability and honesty. Yet in Monika’s work, steel takes on a softer, more poetic character. This industrial material meets unexpectedly romantic forms, almost as if she were working with an entirely different material.

Recognised by Architectural Digest among the AD100 designers, The Good Living & Co is celebrated for its distinctive aesthetic, exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to tradition.

The brand was first unveiled during and immediately caught a lot of attention. It will be presented again at .brussels from 4–7 June.
