b0b Van Reeth 1943-2025

In honour of b0b Van Reeth, we post this series of photographs of one of his first designs. The project for house Huyse was conceived and built around 1969 on a limited budget. Despite its age, the house is still very relevant in the architectural discours today. We believe a lot of architectural practices are still indebted to this earlier work of b0b in a good way.
architecten asked to make the series for b0b’s 80th birthday, now almost three years ago. We think the images capture the space, light and honest materials in an extraordinary way. Although b0b was a man of looking forward instead of looking back, he liked the fresh look on this old gem.

By sharing these pictures, we hope they can inspire and that the legacy of b0b can keep contributing to our architectural practices in these challenging times.

B-Post Sit Oostkamp - It’s a win!

bildt. architecten and Atavus have won the competition for an inclusive residential project in Oostkamp. The design is centered around a communal green space and connected to the car-free Hogedreef. Historical elements, such as the old school building and the nearby castle wall, are incorporated to give the site its unique character. The garden surrounds the transformed director’s house that serves as a community space for the residents. The project offers various housing types, with special attention given to the transition between private and shared spaces. The result is a harmonious design focused on sustainable, affordable, and high-quality living.

Even during winter break we keep on building! Constructing this iglo was a fun and educational experiment.

Recently, house WV was photographed by .kramer. The sunny day was perfect to experience how the central patio brings light deep into the house. The sense of depth and the tactility of the brickwork were also beautifully captured. The nuanced shades of the bricks goes hand in hand with the wooden joinery and both materials were consistently used in the interior as well. The result is a warm and welcoming home.

Today the first stone of the VDAB Career Campus in Roeselare was laid! This innovative training hub, designed to shape the workforce of the future, is officially underway. Strategically located along the Bruges-Kortrijk highway, the project features spacious workshops for construction, industry, smart vehicles, and sustainable technologies.

The campus forms a green, healthy learning environment with rooftop gardens and abundant natural light. The design is sustainable & CO2-neutral thanks to its flexible casco, reusable materials and energy-efficient systems. With the first stone laid, this future-proof campus is on its way to becoming a green beating heart where learning and working meet.

First day of school today!

Double the joy for the children of SBS De Brug in Roeselare today. Not only does the first day of school start with a shining sun, but also with a new building and a new playground!

In collaboration with , we designed a building for childcare and a true adventure playground with plenty of space for greenery and water. The former concrete surface has been transformed into an oasis of nature and play. The first and second grades kicked things off and thoroughly enjoyed their first recess!

Our project Boevrie is moving fast!

For & Baltisse, we are realising this new neighbourhood in the historic centre of Bruges. Contractor is rapidly proceeding. The Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES) is in place to provide fossil-free energy and the underground car park is almost finished. We look forward to see the first dwellings to rise!

Blending in in the village of Ramskapelle for .

The dubbel roof scape brings the bigger volume to a smaller scale and makes it blend with the existing fabric. The pure and simple detailing in combo with lime washed masonry does the trick.
