1907 Farcot et Olivier ...

What can be more nerve wrecking than cut a keyway in a brand new, one off Crank for the Farcot et Olivier ? mission successful ...

The crank was firstly set up in the CNC machine and checked to be 100% level before the careful procedure of cutting the keyway. With the gear installed a additional cylindrical pin was inserted to ensure it will stay in place for many more years... Then careful machining of the original pulley, ensuring a push fit...

After 120 years, this beautiful Renault windscreen frame gave its last grasp... the thread was totally worn, we machined out the old and inserted a new steel thread, giving another 120 years of life...

Farcot et Olivier Engine update... with one of one cars you always end up making your own parts... As part of the full engine build we've manufactured new Crankshaft Thrust bearings with Mitchell groves to ensure plenty of oil circulation.

Not all repairs justify making new parts, this lovely De Dion Bouton IE very unfortunately broke one of its brake shoes, after a extensive search to find a new or used replacement, without any success !!!... a repair was the only route.

As there was insufficient material to clamp too, we opted to make a suitable clamp.
