Architect / Designer / ALL in STUDIO

Refferred as “A MOOD SETTER”, Pavel Yanev is the mastermind behind ALL in STUDIO’s projects and considered one of the top Bulgarian creative architects and interior designers.

I grew up in Varna, in the east of Bulgaria. The bigger boy of two. I was curious kid who loved making stuff and repair old radios and bikes. My parents were structural engineers and I was surrounded with drawings from the very begging of my life.

After finishing high school I went to the University of Architecture in Sofia. In those days the school was very strict and we had to follow rules to achieve so-called good results. It was very technical education with no creative side. I started working from 2nd grade in different architecture studios. My goal was to find how the system work in real life. I learned a lot of things but it wasn’t enough. Buildings and interiors didn’t seem to be as the buildings in the magazines. So, I started travelling and wanted to see how it is the situation abroad.

It was a revelation. I realized architecture and design could be much more than autocad lines and strategy. Design could be culture! So, after a few trips to Switzerland, New York and Los Angeles, I was exposed to so many different buildings, styles and opinions. After every new destination I did have a lot of input and ideas!
