We’re excited to announce Amancaya, a new Aman resort by Jacobsen in the heart of Exuma, The Bahamas. The boundless horizon of deep azure seas, white sands and native flora form the setting for this peaceful retreat.

Architecture, guided by horizontality and elongated lines, rests lightly on the land, with its forms softened by coral-inspired textures and muted tones, its materiality attuned to stone, woven fiber, and aged wood that carry the memory of time and place.

Amancaya is a meditation on the delicate balance between human presence and nature. Every detail has been composed to honor the island’s elemental beauty, evoking the essence of paradise untouched.

INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY | An architectural icon of Rio de Janeiro, the MAR Museum, also known as Rio Art Museum, epitomizes the beauty of the dichotomy between the old and the new.

The biggest challenge of the project was to unite existing buildings with distinct architectural characteristics. In addition to the museum, the program includes a school and spaces for culture and leisure.

A suspended walkway connects and allows the circulation of visitors between the two buildings. The roof, which visually connects the buildings, evokes the undulations of the sea's surface.

DIA INTERNACIONAL DO MUSEU | Ícone arquitetônico do Rio de Janeiro, o Museu MAR, também conhecido como Museu de Arte do Rio, personifica a beleza da dicotomia entre o antigo e o novo.

O maior desafio do projeto foi unir edifícios existentes com características arquitetônicas distintas. Além do museu, o programa inclui uma escola e espaços para cultura e lazer.

Uma passarela suspensa conecta e permite a circulação de visitantes entre os dois edifícios. A cobertura, que conecta visualmente os edifícios, evoca as ondulações da superfície do mar.

SOON | Set against the backdrop of the Bay Area’s rolling mountains, the house was designed to frame the horizon. Large openings connect the interiors to the surrounding landscape, bringing natural light and the changing atmosphere of the valley into everyday life.

NEW PROJECT | At Lavva Restaurant, the spatial experience is defined by a sculptural staircase that connects the two levels, which unfolds and transforms into the surface of the bar, creating a fluid continuity between architecture and furniture.

NEW PROJECT | Lavva Restaurant was conceived as a stage, with fire as a central element, where architecture, materiality, and experience build an immersive narrative.

The tables, equipped with grills at their center, transform the act of eating into a participatory ritual, reclaiming a more instinctive and collective dimension of the meal.

Rustic walls evoke the land in its rawest state, while the charred wood ceiling directly references fire. The concept draws on the idea of the human as a hunter, in connection with natural elements.

NOVO PROJETO | O Restaurante Lavva foi concebido como um palco, com o fogo como elemento central, onde arquitetura, materialidade e experiência constroem uma narrativa imersiva.

As mesas, equipadas com grelhas no centro, transformam o ato de comer em um ritual participativo, resgatando uma dimensão mais instintiva e coletiva da refeição.

As paredes rústicas evocam a terra em seu estado mais bruto, enquanto o teto de madeira carbonizada faz referência direta ao fogo. O conceito se baseia na ideia do ser humano como caçador, em conexão com os elementos naturais.
