I am 48 years old now and my wife, 42. We have one high school going son whom we have grappled to look after over the years. For weeks and months we could not find a basic job as we had no privilege to educate ourselves, also the lack of proper skills and experience made our hope glimmer.
After years of struggle, we felt relieved to get a job as a residential building care taker; I signed a contract for 5 years and agreed on looking after 1 residential building as told by the owner initially. As the months passed, the owner assigned me two additional buildings to look after, run construction and personal errands every day. My wife was also dragged into the work loads without pay. We wanted to withdraw but the contract had bind us to the grave. We bore the pain and managed to fulfill 5 years of our term and went looking for other jobs but there was no ray of hope. We remained there for additional 6 months hoping for someone to rescue us as we had no options and also we had to feed ourselves and our son.
I am out of words to say this but one sir from 'The Care' company rang to my ears like an angel on the phone. It was on 28th June at 8 a.m. He offered to help me and asked me to personally meet him near Central Plaza. He introduced me to the new owner who was also lhotsham which was more comfortable to us because we knew little dzongkha.
During the meet, i raised my concerns, doubts and expectations in front of the new owner as suggested by the sir from The Care and we agreed on all the verbal terms and I did not had to sign any contract too. Moreover, sir from The Care asked us to inform him regarding any issues related to the owner or the work, and after a month also helped my wife with a job as a office peon at NGN technology office in Olakha.
We now enjoy a free shelter, monthly salary plus light work as a building care taker in Olakha. I just want to thank you sir or i may say 'my son' as you look very young. Thank you again for your generous act and for running up and down for us during the rainy days. Hope to see you help more helpless people like us in ever growing difficult job market and also employ my son under your company if he does not get through 12 grade. I pray for your good health and future.
