Part 2 – The doors are open 🏔️
After months of planning, building, and thousands of horse trips across the mountains, Home Tale Laya is finally complete.
Situated in one of Bhutan’s most remote villages, Home Tale Laya was designed and built by ADesign as a passion project, allowing the architecture to evolve through an integrated process of design and construction. Seeing the vision take shape at 4,000 meters above sea level made every challenge along the way worthwhile.
Today, Home Tale Laya stands with four rooms, warm beds, wood-burning stoves, and something that feels like a true luxury at this altitude — hot showers in the middle of the Himalayas. Simple comforts, carefully created with windows opening to one of the most untouched landscapes in the mountains.
We were proud to open the doors just in time to welcome the first guests for the Highland Festival in October 2025. As the village filled with celebration, music, and visitors from around the world, Home Tale Laya was ready.
What began as an idea has become a place for travelers to rest, connect, and experience life in Laya.
For us, it’s a reminder that even at 4,000 meters, passion projects can become something very real 🏔️🐎
