In the main living area—the true heart of Big Big Villa—we've installed an expansive 7×3.2 m double-glazed window. This represents the maximum size the facade system can handle. Even in Astana's harsh climate, we successfully implemented this feature.

Beyond flooding the space with natural light, the large-scale glazing enhances landscape integration. Reflections of the greenery and surroundings in the glass seamlessly blend the building into its environment, echoing the nearby river.

The parameters of Big Big Villa were dictated by Kazakh tradition: all family members live in one big house. In houses of this type, it is impossible to do without help. Therefore, we have thought over the functional program in such a way
as to take into account the routes of both residents and staff.

Even before the start of the design, the customer had his own idea of the layout of the house. We designed 12 bedrooms, some of which are master suites, and some are rooms with private bathrooms. This solution ensures maximum comfort for residents.

How were the facades of Big Big Villa designed?

The customer initially knew that he wanted to create an impressive, plastic volume of the house. Consoles ranging from 6 to 9 meters have become fundamental elements in the development of the house volume.

We have achieved sculptural quality thanks to concise solutions that work not only as a decoration, but also have their own function. For example, they create a shadow on the terraces.

We selected a limited color palette: anthracite HPL panels, milky-white fiberglass and copper-colored aluminum composite panels. This solution helped us achive required image - minimalistic yet remarkable.

Big Big Villa is a premium complex for the whole family. Located in Astana, near a residential area AKBULAK Riviera, also developed by us earlier.

By choosing such a location, the owners get all the benefits of urban amenities combined with a sense of suburban life. The main desire of the customer - to create a large house for relatives and guests - served as the basis for a functional program. So, on the territory of almost 2 hectares, 5 facilities were designed: an apartment building, a car showroom, an indoor tennis court, a greenhouse and a gazebo. We will describe them in the following posts, stay tuned.

RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN is one of the key components shaping the city's appearance. It also defines a person's sense of self: from entering the lobby to the view from the living room.

We develop projects taking into account key urban planning trends: sustainability, integration with the urban environment, and human-scale approach, while ensuring a harmonious and unique image.

For over 12 years, the result has been functional residential spaces that enhance the quality of life for people in various countries. In our pinned stories — details of each stage of residential architecture design: from concept to implementation.

We are concluding the series of publications about the F House project.

On the second floor of the house, there is a private area that includes a library, a guest bedroom, a children's room, and a master suite. This floor differs from the first with new shades: dusty rose, deep blue, and warm terracotta. This creates a sense of coziness and comfort.

The master suite stands out with a bright accent against the calm color palette of the other rooms. It features complex shades, similar to those in the other spaces, but their intensity and warmth have been taken to the extreme. Natural light only emphasizes this harmony. Sunlight streaming through the panoramic glazing enhances the cheerful mood of the red and terracotta colors. The dark burgundy in the master bathroom softens the vibrant energy of the bedroom, adding an element of mystery.

The space is practical and not overloaded with details. The home’s interior is perceived as a base that the family can change over time and fill with their favorite things.

The interior of the F House combines harmony, elegance, and functionality. At the entrance, at the end of a long corridor, there is a fireplace area, along which are located a wardrobe, an office, a living room with a library, a dining room, and a kitchen with a large island.

On the first floor, we also designed a pool and a connecting technical block. A door with ribbed glass separates the spa area from the living space, blurring the clear boundaries between the rooms. Oak veneer on the walls and anthracite shades unify the spaces, while panoramic windows enhance the connection with nature.

The staircase connects the floors and visually separates the kitchen from the living room. The second floor features private areas: a library, a guest bedroom, a children's room, and a master suite.

F House is a project designed for a young family with two children.

The structure consists of three volumes that together form a unified home. The frame serves as a striking architectural element, harmoniously integrating into the interior. Concrete ceilings provide excellent sound insulation and the necessary thermal mass, while steel elements allow for reduced cross-sections of structural parts, and the wood on the exterior adds a sense of lightness.

The site is located in close proximity to a pine forest and a small body of water, and grass plants were used for landscaping. The facades facing the street are semi-enclosed, while the panoramic glazing opens up to the courtyard. This design perfectly aligns with the clients' lifestyle: it is dynamic, welcoming, and at the same time private.

BOOK Towers: stylobate as a multifunctional solution.

The building does not have a closed courtyard. Its function is replaced by a stylobate and an open area around it. On the first floor, there are shops and cafes, for which we developed a design code and provided the same places for signs so that advertising did not spoil the appearance of the building.

The apartments on the second floor have small private terraces that open onto the platform. We hid the air conditioning and fire escape ladder behind a grid that formed a whole panel of lamellas.

Recalling our residential multi-story buildings: BOOK Towers.

Two 23-story towers inspired by books, implemented in the Sosnovy Quarter in the developing residential area of Novaya Borovaya. The two buildings are turned at right angles to each other and located on a common stylobate with additional public functions.

In each tower, we redesigned the layout of the balconies at the corners, distributed them randomly, and even moved them to the opposite facades. We did that to get rid of monotony and create a complex volume.

While waiting for the spring warmth, we took a stroll through Novaya Borovaya to see how vibrant and active the neighborhood can be as winter winds down.
