What happens when you don't put your garden to bed in the fall/winter? (I was out of the country and then pretty sick/low energy for a few months). The bare bed with lots of clay dries out and splits open the portal to slug heck.

Decided to do an early pop up plant sale as the next couple of days are perfect planting weather. I have a nice selection of tomatoes and peppers (plus more!) that are hardened off and ready to plant.

Excited to have a special sale on Italian paste tomatoes, grown from seed that I brought home from Italy. Includes San Marzano II, Rio Grande and Cvor Di Blu Oxheart. $2 each or 6 for $10.

The full seedling list is available now! Any seeds sourced in Italy have an (I) next to their name. Online Facebook orders are now open and our final stock sale day will be at our seedling sale May 23rd.
I also have some large clumps of perennials dug up from my garden. Mixed yarrow, horseradish, and flats of Albion overbearing strawberries.

Prices
Tomatoes, sweet peppers and flowers are $3 each of 4 for $10.

Hot Peppers (started early, large in size in 5 inch pots) are $4 each or 3 for $10.

Gardening can be so fickle. You can't control the elements and pests. This year has been hard for pests; rats, voles, moles, and now bears. Normally the bears just walk through the garden headed off to find berries. But last night they decided to go corn bowling. My corn stalks were the pins and the bears themselves the bowling ball. An entire crop wiped out, no recovery. So sad thinking about the hours I spent selecting seed varieties, the cost for the seed, expanding irrigation, straw to mulch, the time to plant and w**d and all gone in an instant.

I couldn't bring myself to clear it up today. Too sad and too hot. That'll be a job for next week.

I will have corn soon!!! We planted two varieties of sweet corn and spaced out the plantings. We should be harvesting soon and through the rest of summer. Some for fresh eating and some to freeze for the year.
