Getting an accurate stump grinding quote starts with the right measurement.

The top of the stump might seem like the obvious place to measure, but it is often smaller than the full stump at ground level. That can lead to inaccurate quotes and surprise pricing later on.

For stump grinding, pricing is based on the widest measurement at ground level because that gives the truest size of the stump and helps us quote the job properly from the start.

If you are not sure how to measure it, send us a photo along with the measurement at ground level and we can help from there.

As spring starts up, these spots can become more obvious as the tree becomes active again. Common signs include oozing sap, bark staining, and frass coming from the hole, and over time the tunneling can weaken the tree.

We’re hiring a Stump Grinder Operator / Ground Labourer to join the Buck’s Tree Service team for the upcoming season.

This is a full-time seasonal position based in Spruce Grove, with an 8-month contract and pay ranging from $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.

The role includes stump grinding, ground labour, site cleanup, equipment prep, brush removal, and supporting arborist work on a variety of job sites. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable with physically demanding days in all kinds of weather.

We also offer flexible 8 to 10 hour shifts, overtime opportunities, and support for training and industry certifications.
