Honouring Indigenous Soldiers on Remembrance Day

Today, we pause to remember and honour the over 12,000 Indigenous soldiers who served in the WW1 and WW2. These brave men and women volunteered in the face of immense challenges, fighting for freedom and peace, often without full recognition of their own rights at home. Despite the sacrifices they made, their contributions were historically overlooked.

As we reflect on their courage and commitment, we must also recognize the cultural strength and resilience they carried with them into battle. On this day, we vow never to forget their sacrifices, their stories, and their legacy, ensuring that they are remembered with the dignity and honour they deserve.
