A well designed home is the comfiest place to ride-out a storm!
As a late winter snow storm approaches us here in Manitoba, we are preparing for rising ground water levels and power outages by gathering fuel and pulling out our generators. But why not design your home to meet such challenges with self-resiliency.
The sun is a tremendous source of free energy. Through simple design solutions this free energy can be tapped into. A passive home can maintain a constant interior temperature for weeks, even in a snow storm without power. Such buildings can provide optimal shelter in emergency situations where other buildings would fail.
