🌸 Helping busy women grow beautiful food & flower gardens
🌱Simple guidance. No overwhelm.
📍Montreal - Ottawa Sandra

I've always been in love with gardening, from my summers spent in my family's garden to the open-air markets in Europe, surrounded by beautiful flowers and seasonal vegetables. This passion continues with my current garden at home in Montreal (now with a few little human seedlings of my own to help carry on the tradition). Fortunately, I've always found a mentor, a kind of gardening sherpa, to hel

p me blossom (pun intended) as a gardener. I add to their wisdom through endless gardening books and note-taking, and I'm always keeping my eyes open for new inspiration. With Dig Plant Love I’m hoping to create a space and a feeling of community to support and to inspire anyone who’s interested in gardening. You might be a newcomer who doesn't know where to start, or a seasoned enthusiast who’s always looking for some new ideas. In any case, I'd like to invite you to plant yourself here.

Yesterday, after finishing the planting of cucumbers and melons, I took a step back and snapped this photo of the garden.

Even though most plants are still settling in, the garden has already been producing for several weeks — lettuce, radishes, mint, oregano, lovage, and I noticed my baby bok choy is ready too. And of course, the ranunculus and anemones are coming from here as well, taking over from the hundreds and hundreds of tulips that found their way into your homes on Mother’s Day weekend back in May.

One of my favourite sayings is: the garden keeps on giving. Nature is incredibly generous when it’s cared for well.

I can’t wait to watch this space transform as the season unfolds.

And a little tip for you — take photos and videos of your garden! They’re so helpful for remembering when things flowered or produced, and invaluable when you want to make changes to your garden design later on.

Happy Sunday, friends! 🌱💕

🌸 Spring flower bunches available this weekend! 🌸

The star of the show right now is the stunning Ranunculus! Because of the move, I didn’t grow them last year, and I oh-so missed these gorgeous flowers!

They might be paired with a few other seasonal beauties such as Anemones, Peonies, or Sweet William.

📍 Pick-up options:

• Starting tomorrow afternoon in Vankleek Hill
• Sunday at Clarke Café in the West Island, between 8:30–10:30 a.m.

If you’ve been waiting to bring some of spring’s magic indoors, now is the perfect moment.

Capture the beauty of your garden long after the blooms have faded. 🌹

Rose petals are edible and can be enjoyed fresh or dried. I’m planning to dry these pretties so I can sprinkle a little bit of summer onto birthday cakes, cookies, and cheese boards throughout the year.

I love finding ways to preserve the fleeting beauty of the garden. A handful of dried rose petals can turn even the simplest treat into something special.

The possibilities are endless.

Want a quick garden upgrade without spending a fortune? Edge your garden beds! 🌿

Clean, defined edges instantly make a garden look neater. Add a little weeding, and it can completely transform the space. Happy gardening! :)
