I had the pleasure of working with another local company on this one.

Customer wanted after hours access through the mandoor.

I removed the standard latch plate and installed an RCI L65 electronic strike.

Customers now have access 24/7.

If you are looking for keyless access control for your business, give me a call.

There are a variety of commercial solutions available, and I’m sure there is one that will fit your needs.

Be Aware of Scammers!

Unfortunately there are Scammers in many service industries and locksmith services are among them. You have possibly watched TV shows or news specials where a scammer is busted.

They are typically unlicensed and have little or no formal training in the field they are working in. Some in the home improvement area may ask for a large deposit and never deliver on services.

Scammer locksmiths are often called for an emergency lock-out. They show up in an unmarked vehicle and can not preform the work for the quoted price. They may tell you a simple residential lock is high security, pick proof and they have to drill then replace the lock.

Have I drill locks? Yes. Do I like drilling locks? No! Have I tried everything in my bag of "tricks" before I think about drilling? Absolutely!

Here in Alberta, all locksmiths are to be licensed by the Alberta Government. We are required, by law, to carry our license and produce it if and when asked. All Locksmith businesses are also to be licensed and to display that license.

Unfortunately, not all jurisdictions require locksmiths to be licensed.

So how can you protect yourself from being scammed?

I strongly suggest you do your research prior to actually needing a locksmith! If you are proactive before an emergency happens you can take your time to do your research.

The phone book maybe a good place to start, but remember anyone can advertise. The publisher of a phone book or any periodical for that matter, does not required an advertiser to prove they are qualified. They simply publish the ad that has been paid for!

The internet is full of information and reviews so you can do your research. Speak to you friends and neighbors, who do they use? Did they like the service?

My best suggestion is to find at least one Plumber, Electrician, HVAC technician and Locksmith, before you need them and put their number in your phone or on your fridge.

It is easier for a scammer to take advantage of you when you are facing an emergency and you are in panic mode!

Being prepared "just in case" will go a long way to protecting you and your property!

Welcome to Key Concepts Locksmithing!

This is a small (one man) Locksmith company running out of a small town north of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I provide general services to my valued customers covering a substantial piece of the province.

My background is in Policing and after 31 years with the RCMP, I retired in 2010. Prior to joining the RCMP, I worked for a private security company in Toronto. Basically, for the past 45 years or all of my adult working life, I have been involved in the security and protection industry.

My plans for this page is to take you with me to some of my jobs. Show you what I do and if I can do it so can your local locksmith. I will share my experience in this industry and some real life mistakes I have found along the way.

My intent is to educate and be of value to you. If you have questions, I will do my best to answer them.

If I recommend a product it will be based on my personal hands-on experience.

I know your time is valuable and I thank-you for you interest.

Please like and share this page with your friends and family!
