Winter can suck. Most of the time it does suck. But winter on our little farm can also be so breathtakingly beautiful.

Seven little ducks went out to play, over the hills and far away...

Just waiting on one last egg to hatch! It has a pip, so hopefully the little duckling will hatch tonight or tomorrow morning. If all goes well we will have had another awesome hatch! 84% hatch rate with our chicks (with 10/12, one infertile egg and the other probably dying sometime in the first week), and if all goes okay with this last little duckling, 100% hatch rate with the ducks. Not too shabby for a first timer.

The duckies are starting to hatch! Can't wait to get home tonight and see if any more of come out yet.

After a slow winter, things are finally (slowly but surely) starting to happen around here! We picked up our very first hatching eggs on Saturday and are expecting (fingers crossed) some little chickies Easter weekend. We've also started some of our seeds for our garden this month and are very excited to see the teeny, tiny, green seedlings starting to pop up. It is nice to have these little pieces of Spring despite the ever-Winter weather we seem to be having lately.

A beautiful foggy morn here on our Little Hobby Farm. Sweater weather is upon us (at least in the early mornings) and I could not be happier! I have a sweater problem and this has got to be one of the cutest that boys have worn.

Another little surprise from our garden. Cherry tomatoes! The garden is mostly overgrown as we moved to our home too late in the season to plant. But apparently the old owners had some tomato plants last year.

Holy apples! Our tree is bursting with apples. Hundreds of them! I see a whole lot of baking in my future.
