Remember that mystery water pouring out of the wall we posted about? 👀

Well… this is what we pulled out of the hole — a literal wedge of wood. 🪵🥴 Instead of fixing the issue, it looks like someone tried to plug it and call it a day.

Meanwhile, water was still working its way through—eating into the wood, running down the wall, and pooling on the basement floor. The vapour barrier did its job—keeping the drywall looking dry—but it also hid the problem behind it.

Just another reminder — what you see on the surface isn’t always the full story.
