is your garden currently swimming instead of growing? 🌊 With all this non-stop rain,
wether you have 2 pots on a patio or a half-acre of veggies, here are 3 essential moves to save your outdoor garden right now:

1. Play "Damage Control" with your foliage 🌿
Go out between showers and gently shake excess water off heavy leaves (this prevents breakage). Snip off any yellowing or soggy-bottom leaves to stop rot from spreading. For container gardeners: tilt your pots slightly to let excess water run out of the drainage holes!

2. Protect your soil structure 🚫
Do NOT walk on wet garden beds! Compacted mud suffocates roots. Lay down a spare plank of wood to walk on if you must go out. For raised beds and in-ground: if water is pooling, use a trowel to dig a tiny temporary drainage ditch to channel water away from your plant crowns.

3. Hold the fertilizer—but plan for a "rainy day meal" 🍽️
Heavy rain leaches nitrogen out of the soil like a thief. Do not fertilize while it's actively pouring (it'll just wash away). BUT, as soon as the sun peeks out, fertilize to give your hungry plants a much-needed boost!
