June 4, 2026 -🚨 FIRE BAN IN EFFECT🚨

Effective immediately, the lighting of fires in all areas and boundaries of Whitefish River First Nation is prohibited.

During a total fire ban no person shall light, or allow to remain alight, any fire in an open area, any outdoor incinerator or any cooking fire or device other than a gas barbecue or cooker.

This prohibited fire ban will remain in force until revoked by further notice. Please participate in keeping our territory safe by complying with this ban.

☀️ Join us for breakfast at the Community Centre as we gather to celebrate Anishinaabe Giizhigad!

Community members are invited to stop by on Saturday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a morning of good food, connection, and community.

We hope to see you there as we come together to celebrate and honour Anishinaabe culture and community. Everyone is welcome.

Notice of Maintenance: Little Current Swing Bridge

The ministry will be milling and paving both north and south approaches of the Little Current Swing Bridge (see attached map).

All work will be within the existing highway right of way. This work is planned to begin in June or July of 2026 and will be completed in less than two weeks, weather depending.

No work will occur on Fridays and minimal disruptions to traffic are expected.
This work is distinct from the planned replacement of this bridge.
