I extend solemn and heartfelt Good Friday greetings to all Guyanese, and to our Christian brothers and sisters around the world. ✝️
On this sacred and deeply significant day, we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ — a sacrifice rooted in unconditional love, humility, and unwavering commitment to truth and justice. His suffering reminds us that even in the darkest moments, faith must prevail, and righteousness must never be abandoned.
Good Friday is not only a time of reflection, but a call to action. It challenges each of us to embody compassion, forgiveness, and moral courage in our daily lives. It urges us to stand firm in what is right, to uplift one another, and to reject injustice wherever it exists.
As Guyanese, our strength has always come from our resilience, our unity, and our shared values of service and community. Yet today, many among us continue to face hardship, inequality, and neglect. In a nation blessed with vast resources and potential, no citizen should be left behind. This solemn day reminds us that true leadership is defined by sacrifice, accountability, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of all people — especially the most vulnerable.
We must also reaffirm our respect for faith and its sacred place in our society. Religion should never be exploited or diminished. Our places of worship must remain spaces of peace, reflection, and unity — guiding lights in times of uncertainty, not tools for division.
As we observe Good Friday, let us recommit ourselves to building a stronger, fairer, and more compassionate Guyana — a nation where justice prevails, where dignity is upheld, and where every citizen is valued and protected.
May this holy day bring peace to your hearts, strength to your spirit, and renewed hope for a brighter future.
