These zesty italian hybrid pepper plants grew like crazy this year! If you like a spicy pepper (not quite as spicy as a jalepeno) this is a good option! I will be pickling many of these, and freezing some for cooking this winter. This is about a quarter of the total harvest!

Re-potting the tomatillo plant today...this year I'm going to try growing it in a pot all season to see if I can get an earlier harvest. It's always a struggle to get the fruit to mature before frost in the fall, and this is the method I use to get peppers earlier. Fingers crossed! It will stay in the greenhouse for a few more weeks at least!

Some early morning planting today, before the heat! We're experiencing a short heat wave here but the rain and cool weather is on the way. Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and kohlrabi are all planted out now! These plants are cold tolerant and are fine to plant out now according to the long term forecast here.

Propagating snapdragons! My snapdragon germination wasn't great this year, so now that they have a few sets of leaves I can cut and propagate them. 1) snip cleanly above at least two sets of leaves 2) remove as many leaves from the stem as possible 3) dip in rooting hormone 4) place in soil. These will sit in moderate light and out of harsh heat for a while while they form roots. Hoping these are successful!

Some of the tomato seedlings got moved out to the greenhouse today! Germination rate is awesome this year.

Do you pre-sprout your gladiolus? Mine have gone crazy this year and badly need to be potted up, as you can see! These flowers are not frost tolerant, so they will live in the greenhouse until the threat of frost has passed.
