📲 Just a reminder that online orders are paused now that we are open for in person sales here at the farm! We still have plenty of plants that feed people, but keeping up with the website and the nursery block is too much for just us.

When you're ready to pick your plants, think about what fruit you normally buy at the store and consider buying the plant that produces it first. For example...

Growing up in Girl Guides, Christi loved snacking on the wild raspberries found along the trails at camp so she had to have a raspberry patch here at the farm! We have several varieties available in our online store ready to produce fruit this season. You'll love snacking these sweet and tangy berries right off the plants as much as we do.

Time is flying and spring is getting closer so it's time for another fruit feature! Next up: Green Gage Plum!

We loved that this variety was sweet, juicy, and tender in addition to being green! A compatible pollinator is required to set fruit or consider adding this variety to your orchard with a plum combination tree.

As we count down the days until spring, we'll be featuring some of our favourite fruits to get you inspired for gardening season. First up: Toka Plum!

Sweet, juicy, and perfectly petite, Toka Plums are sometimes called "bubblegum" plums because they have an aroma that's similar to that classic pink chewing gum flavour you remember from childhood. Even Christi, who really isn't keen on plums, didn't mind this one!

While Toka is sold as a self-pollinating variety, our orchard experience suggests it's best paired with another tree of a compatible variety to get a better fruit set on both. We offer a variety of choices that match Toka's requirements, allowing you to choose another plum that you're sure to love.

Plants that feed people are back for another season as we're excited to announce that our 2026 catalogue is online! You'll find your favourite varieties of fruit trees, berry bushes, and grape vines along with new introductions just hitting the retail market.

Pop over to our virtual greenhouse to browse the catalogue and place your orders for spring pickup. Weather permitting, Creek View Acres Nursery & Orchard opens on Friday, March 27 for the spring rush and pre-season orders will be ready for pickup shortly thereafter.

This season promises to be fast and furious as always! Despite disruptions in the supply chain, we've worked hard to make sure that we have both the selection and quality of plants that feed people that you've come to expect from us here at the farm.

🪱 We're often asked what's needed to give your new plants that feed people their best start... what's in Christi's hand? This is no ordinary soil... it's organic worm castings! Blending worm excrement into existing soils is one amendment that we recommend to help fruit trees, berry bushes, and grape vines establish once planted.

🌿Since we are a nursery, not a garden centre, we focus on providing quality, professionally grown plants that feed people and only a small selection of complementary products that we know will enhance your growing experience because we use them in our own orchard as well! Worm castings are on our list and should be on yours for the upcoming season.
