The owner of brentwood grounds Ltd, Ian Robinson was a guest once more on CFAX 1070 this past Sunday January 15th 2012. the show host,Jeff De Jong and Ian discussed winter gardening tasks such as pruning od roses,shrubs and trees. Ian also donated 3 hrs of gardening service to one lucky caller, actually the phones were ringing off the wall. Ian will be back on CFAX 1070 soon on Jeff De Jongs Gardening show.

I will be on CFAX 1070 at 11 am Nov 6,this
Sunday. We will be discussing late fall gardening tasks,and the do's and dont's of the season.

Brentwood Grounds is currently winterizing irrigation systems in all of our Strata properties. We are also putting in some seasonal pansy and bulb displays.

Our crews are also busy installing several landscape upgrades that include
several feature tree's and several varieties of colourful deer resistant shrubs. This particular project is on Bear Mtn where the deer are very well established.

We have noticed over the years that crows love pulling up the fall pansies right after they are planted. I have always wondered why and now am sure it is to do with the shiney bits of vermiculite that is threaded in the planting medium.

Brentwood Grounds is now plantinf fall pansies,violas,bulbs and more in our Strata properies common area gardens. We add where required organic soil amender to build the soil. The spent flowers are recycled at an organic facility that actually creates the soil amendwer that we use.
Fall lawn food can now be applied,and garden beds will need some more weeding to be ready for winter. Brrrr !!!

A little fall colour,rudeibeccia's will brighten up your garden from august till November. They are absolutely a must for all Vancouver Island gardens. Pair them with sedum Autumn Joy and you have a proven winning combination. Great for Strata councils to consider for common area beds. Strata's that invest in proven perrenial combinations such as these will enjoy their charm for many years. And be the envy of the Strata property across the street!!!
