It's curbside collection day, and aren't we fortunate to have this service in our community? While browsing Valley Waste-Resource Management's website we were very excited to learn about their initiative to move to a circular economy!
Instead of buying and tossing materials into a landfill, the waste product (paper/plastic packaging) is revalorized (collected and sent back for manufacturing into another useful product that has value).
Amsterdam has been doing this for years, and the management practice can create a no-waste system. It's a great plan for today's limited resources and reduces environmental strain on ecosystems.
A big thank you to everyone at Valley Waste who works to keep our communities clean and safe!
Creating a Circular Economy What is a circular economy? In a circular economy, nothing is waste. The circular economy retains and recovers as much value as possible from resources by reusing, repairing, refurbishing, remanufacturing, repurposing, or recycling products and materials.
