In 1965 Lutes Building Centre was opened in Brooks, Alberta by Willard and Evelyn Lutes. With one truck and plenty of manual labor they began to supply Brooks and area with construction materials. As Brooks
grew so did Lutes Building Centre. Soon Willard and Evelyn’s children Bill, Allen and Janey were all involved in the family business. Lutes Building Centre expanded the product lines to include nearly anything needed to renovate or construct a home. Lutes Building Centre was stocking lumber, drywall, insulation, Wilmar Windows, General paint, carpet, tile, hardwood and more. As a family business Lutes Building Centre and it’s staff have always taken great pride in their community involvement. Lutes Building Centre sponsors many local activities including baseball, hockey, football, soccer, 4-H and many more. In 1986 Allen Lutes and Jim Holkestad took the helm Lutes Building Centre continued to grow from a single truck to a fleet of trucks and multiple forklifts with an always expanding product line. Lutes carries such brands as Makita power tools, General Paint, Rust-Oleum, Owens Corning insulation & roofing, Dap, Sika and many more! Lutes Tim-Br Mart also has a wide selection of floor coverings to choose from, whether it be from stock or ordered from the showroom, you can choose from many different styles of flooring, such as Armstrong Alterna Tile, Wicanders Cork, Richmond Hardwood, Centura LVP/LVT, Stain Master Carpet and countless other options! In 2007 Travis Lutes took the family business to a new location and Lutes Building Centre began going by the trade name Lutes Tim-br Mart. The new location boasts a larger sales floor, computerized sales desk and a pair of picker trucks which all help to serve the customer better.
