COLOUR THEORY | OUR DESIGN FORMULA

There’s a formula behind the way we use colour.

It’s not simply about choosing shades that work together. We consider how material, texture, light, undertone and proportion interact - building from warm foundations, layering nuanced neutrals and introducing deeper accents where a space needs contrast and depth.

The result is a palette that feels collected, balanced and intentional.

THE BEDFORD RESIDENCE | NEW YORK

Dramatic stone and quiet indulgence. The palette of the primary flows into the ensuite, where richly veined Rosso Levanto marble takes centre stage.

A sculptural tub carved from the stone becomes the focal point, surrounded by bronze ribbed glass, warm wood and aged brass. Layered lighting draws out the depth and movement of the marble, giving the room a rich, atmospheric quality.

A continuation of the bedroom, translated through material, light and architecture.

The Bedford Residence | New York

When each element speaks the same language, the result is quite spectacular.

Rich curved wood paneling, woven leather, velvet, carved wood and aged brass come together through a shared language of form, texture and tone. The sculptural lighting and softly curved ceiling carry that same rhythm overhead, creating a space that feels layered, intimate and beautifully resolved.

The longer I work in design, the more intentional my approach becomes.

I’m less interested in simply doing more - and far more interested in creating work that feels considered, distinctive and lasting.

As Memia Interiors evolves, our focus is becoming even clearer: a deeper emphasis on interior architecture, bespoke design and spaces with a point of view entirely their own.

Every line has a reason.
Every material has a purpose.
Every detail contributes to the whole.

We’re continuing to push the work further - creatively, architecturally and internationally.

The Toronto Breakfast Nook

Sunday mornings, designed a little slower.

A breakfast nook should feel intimate, somewhere for the first coffee of the day, long breakfasts and conversations that carry into the afternoon.

Here, warm walnut, olive velvet and softly veined stone are layered with integrated lighting and collected objects to create a space that feels comfortable, considered and quietly sophisticated.

A small corner of the home, but one that gets lived in every day.

We’re always noticing the little things.

An unexpected material. A beautiful edge detail. The way two finishes meet. Hardware that feels almost like jewellery. Lighting that disappears into the architecture.

A CONTEMPORARY MAJLIS

A modern interpretation of the art of gathering.

Designed around connection, the traditional majlis is reimagined through a contemporary lens - expansive seating, sculptural forms and layers of richly tactile materials create a space that feels intimate despite its scale.

Carved stone, warm bronze, dimensional textiles and integrated light bring depth to a restrained palette, while the sculptural wall installation becomes the quiet focal point of the room.

Rooted in tradition. Expressed for today.

LOS ANGELES KITCHEN

We wanted the island to feel less like cabinetry and more like a piece of furniture.

Its rounded form and deeply fluted oak bring movement to an otherwise restrained kitchen, while stone, smoked ribbed glass and warm metalwork build quiet contrast around it.

Nothing here is competing for attention. The interest comes from proportion, repetition and the way each material changes under light.
