The bloomhouse is in full swing despite the snow! This is Rise + Shine’s third season and I am grateful for all I’ve learned. I can only imagine it’s like having a third child - a little more relaxed about things having gone through the trial and error twice beforehand. These beauts will bring joy all the way into fall… well worth the daily love they are given. What a rewarding job I’ve created for myself! Do what you love and reap what you sow! I look forward to those fuzzy bees working their magic soon. 🌱💚

Don’t be ranunculus!

Last year I tried my hand at growing ranunculus. One fateful night I missed a watering - that set back was impossible for them to recover from, or shall I say, sent them straight back to the earth. I was disappointed in myself, and thought that perhaps the ranunculus were beyond my capabilities. When it came time to order corms this year I had a wee pep talk with myself and somewhere in that lecture was “if at first you don’t succeed try, try again”. Hello Salmon Ranunculus, how ridiculous I was to have even considered missing out on your multi-petaled glory.
