First big harvest of pansies! All of these have come from seeds I saved from last year. I’ve been obsessed with pansies for the last few years but everyone else has joined the pansy party and the seeds have become too pricey for this gal. I’ve been experimenting with saving my own seeds from the fancy ones to see what happens and I’m loving the result so far.

All of the fancy seeds have been bred and grown in specific conditions to ensure that breeding but truthfully, I’m not that picky and I like a surprise. So I will enjoy their cross breeding babies.

Will post more as more bloom!

New Year, new goals! Last year was an interesting year to say the least and had a profound impact on my business. I sold the majority of my flowers to my American flower friends and customers and it’s been a big adjustment not having that ability.

So on that note, my goal this year is to grow for the bees and grow for joy and take care of my Canadian customers who have been so lovely and loyal. I’ve also for the first time opened shipping to Europe and the UK!

My first offering for the year is larger packs of pansies (my well documented favourite) at a price that may be enticing to both bakers and crafters alike!

I will continue to offer pressed seasonal varieties but scaled down to account for the changes. Lots of fresh flowers locally as well in the warmer months!

Sometimes your pansies hold on long enough to make a edible flower sugar cookie house, so you take it!

I used sugar cookie recipe and a set of cookie cutters to make the house/trees and added fresh pansies from my garden and voila!

If I did it again, I’d actually choose to use my pressed edible flowers instead as I found them easier to work with but I’m happy with the prototype!

If you wanna try yourself, I have packs of pressed edible flowers in my shop! Happy Holidays!

Compostable Flower Pumpkins:

Last years offering: I made a completely compostable flower collage pumpkin using homemade glue but also turned it into a double decker fairy house after! But an appreciation for just the flowers.

Here’s the recipe for the compostable glue I used (from )

1 1⁄2 cups (350 ml) water
2 tablespoons of corn syrup or honey
1 teaspoon (4.9 ml) of vinegar
2 tablespoons (15 g) of cornstarch

1. In a saucepan, stir together 3/4 C (180ml) water, syrup, and vinegar and bring to a boil.

2. Combine the cornstarch and remaining 3/4 C of water and then whisk into mixture. Return to a boil and continue cooking for 1 minute.

3. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Store in airtight container. Best used fresh, but it will last a long time if kept in a cool place.

Don’t come for me but here’s another restock of ‘Winter’! Lots of eager planners and I always like to be prepared for the whole year!

A lovely mix of whites, greens, purples and pinks.

Ps. A friendly reminder that with the current state of duties/tariffs I am unable to send my flowers into the US.
