Some stories are about challenges we face quietly, but the lessons ripple into everything we do. The path we walk shapes the way we show up for ourselves, for others, and for the work we love. My journey with endometriosis has taught me resilience, empathy, and strength — qualities that guide how I lead and build DWK Interiors.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, and I lived with this for 25 years before being diagnosed. Being dismissed, pushing through, and learning to advocate for myself didn’t just shape me personally, it shaped the kind of leader I am today.

After publicly sharing my story last year, this feels like another layer. I’ve always said, if sharing my story could help just one person, it’s worth it and I share it here in hopes to spread the word. So when I was asked to contribute to again, it was an easy yes.

We lovingly call this one “senior chic”… and honestly, it’s become a bit of a legend in the family.

Somewhere between the bold graphic tile and the unapologetic brass moment, this little powder room found its personality and ran with it.

It’s the kind of space that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still manages to feel elevated, intentional, and just a touch dramatic (as all good powder rooms should be).

Proof that great design doesn’t have to be precious— it can have a sense of humour, a point of view, and maybe even a nickname that sticks. ✨

Every designer brings a different lens to a project— Candice’s is grounded in intention, practicality, and a love of spaces that quietly steal the show. She designs for real life, but she’s never afraid of a little drama.

Her style in three words: Intentional. Layered. Unforgettable.

Palette: Rich colour drenches balanced with layered neutrals that feel warm, grounded, and lived in.

Materials she loves: Natural stone, warm woods, aged brass, tailored upholstery, and fabrics that bring texture and depth.

Design pet peeve: Beautiful pieces that look good on paper but make zero sense for how people actually live.

Signature move: Colour drenching a space wall-to-wall to create a seamless, gallery-like backdrop so every material, piece of furniture, and layer of texture gets its moment.

Every designer brings a different lens to a project— Jenn is about contrast, character and quiet balance.

Her style in three words: Found. Unexpected. Balanced.

Palette: Moody neutrals and mixed woods.

Materials she loves: Coloured marble, warm woods, polished brass, and patterned fabrics (especially plaid).

Design pet peeve: Falling in love with the perfect piece… that won’t arrive in time.

Signature move: welp, my dance moves are pretty awesome haha! Seriously though, I’d say my aesthetic is balanced spaces with a touch of whimsy and nostalgia.
