It's never too early to start planning! By starting seeds at the proper time, you'll have strong, well-rooted transplants. We recommend taking some notes or using a garden journal when starting plants from seeds. Write down the type & variety of seeds you planted, the date you started them, the germination rate and the date of harvest. You'll be happy you did come next year when you are trying to remember which tomato variety performed the best and what date you planted them.
Also, make sure to label the pots! You will thank yourself after you've moved them here & there & spun the trays around through the growing process.
