This is like finding a unicorn. It’s the second one I’ve bought off FB marketplace in the last two months. These are no longer made as they don’t have the trigger safety device in the nose. It’s in the double trigger.

Manufactured two new laminate tops and installed them in a Richmound home. The worst part of the job was the plumbing. The tailstock and ABS was coated internally with a foul smelling slime that was on the verge of becoming a life form. I didn’t have a new tailstock on hand so I was forced to take it home and clean it.

I spotted an ad on FB Marketplace this afternoon for 28 sheets of plywood that were clearly 5/8 and 7/8 particle board. I inquire & it turns out they’re not full sheets but close enough for countertops and buildup.
The guy asks how much I want and gives me an accurate count and says some of the pieces have glue on them which in the picture appear to be dried blobs of window foam or Pl400. Easy to sand out.
Tell him I’ll take it all, try to negotiate a lower price and say ill probably have to do in two trips. He takes off $50 and says he will deliver it tonight all the way up from the Hutterite colony SW of Maple Creek. Winner winner chicken dinner. Current price for a 4x8 of 5/8” K3 is $49 and HD quit carrying it. You do the math. Perfect timing as I’m building tops in my shop.

Six days of hard work just came to an end. Homeowner thrust this in my hand and suggested I enjoy it with a cigar which is what I’m about to do.

Ordinarily I stay at a friends place in Westgate but she’s deathly ill and I’d rather not contract that. With limited options that I didn’t pursue I asked the clients if I could stay in their empty home not caring if I slept on the floor as I had already brought along a pillow and comforter. Long story short I’m on a queen size bed in the basement. They brought over beer, snacks, drinks and set me up with towels for any showers I might want to take. Tough to take.

Poured a few bags of levelling compound in the breezeway at home this afternoon and realized I’ve buried a heat duct in the wall down and to the left of the plug. Du***ss!
