Mac's father had a passion for birding that he passed onto his son. An opportunity rose to purchase a backyard birding store, and with a gift from his Father, Mac and Linda purchased what is now The Wild Bird Store. They ran the store for 17 years, building it on customer service, education, quality products, and supporting local artisans. In 2013 Mac and Linda's daughter, Kris, and business partn

These little warblers have some impressive traits you may not know:

โ€ข ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ: They're able to digest the wax found in certain berries, which helps some Yellow-rumped Warblers survive farther north in winter than other warblers.

The mystery bird is the ๐˜๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฐ-๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ž๐ ๐–๐š๐ซ๐›๐ฅ๐ž๐ซ! ๐Ÿ’›

True to its name, this active little warbler has a bright yellow patch on its rump that can make it easier to recognize as it moves through the trees.

Yellow-rumped Warblers are energetic foragers, often darting from branches to catch insects in midair. As the seasons change, they also add more berries and fruit to their diet, a useful adaptation as insects become less plentiful.
