​The first photo is how AI imagines this glass and wood coffee table in a home. The next three are the real thing, sitting right here on the bench in my shop.

​I’m testing this out and I really want your opinion: Does using AI to "stage" a real product help you visualize it better? Or does seeing an AI background make you trust the maker less?

(This table project was actually the restoration of a museum display case. I intended to show you the before and after, but I can't seem to find any befores 🤦🏽‍♂️)

This trundle bed was a fun project that complimented the bunkbed I made for this family earlier this year. In order to stick with a similar design, it posed a few of its own challenges. The solid red oak construction means this bed will live on for generations! 💪🏽

With Instagram as my primary posting platform, I find a lot of my posts fall through the cracks and never make it over here to Facebook.

Please accept this apology in the form of a photo dump featuring some of most recent work!

Going forward, I'll make a more conscientious effort to post everything on both platforms. Reels don't always translate well to Facebook, so it might not be a bad idea to find me on Instagram to stay up to date with my latest posts and stories!

A fun project calls for fun product photos!
Designed by my 6-year-old daughter, this black walnut desk organizer features a pair of stackable trays for her pencils and a special drawer to hold her classroom tickets with a hand-turned maple pull.
I love it when I get to support her creativity!

What do you think...does she have a future in product design? 😀

Chef's Board No.1

I'm so happy to have finally settled on a style for my first official iteration of the cutting board. One part of a series of home accent items coming this summer.

The goal was to find a combination of wood species and form factor that spark a bit of retro nostalgia.
These sturdy, durable boards are meant to be used with confidence that they'll last a lifetime.

On a recent mini vacation with my family, I was commissioned to create a custom end grain cutting board as a gift. It is made of local Northern Ontario Maple, Black Walnut and Purpleheart. I hope you all find the time to check out the video. I'd love to hear your feedback.
