We quoted on this job back in January, didn’t get it for whatever reason. Can’t win em all… then I get a message two weeks ago that they still needed 2 showers done as the previous guy “didn’t work out”. Long story short, there was 3 shower stalls to be done, first guy got one done in 4 months, started the second one and was let go. We tore out the regular drywall he had put in, replaced with glasroc tile board, installed a mud bed and tiled shower 2, then it was a complete tear out of shower 3 and refinish. Job completed in about 9.5 days and the customer is happy! I used to work here some 20 years ago.

Time for a week away at a cottage on a lake. We shall return on June 16th!

Got to assist teaching some drywall taping and mudding to grade 11 students at Doyle yesterday. Can you guess which one is my corner? It’s definitely not for everyone but it’s also not something you can learn overnight. Practice makes perfect! Hope to get back next week for a sanding and second coat lesson. Thanks to Greg Cinti for having me in his class! It’s been a while lol

Customer called and explained that the shower was leaking but wasn’t 100% sure where it was coming from exactly. After two days of removing tile, wire mesh and 4” concrete shower pan… 2200 lbs later, we found that the shower had been leaking for quite some time simply of old age. We came up with a couple designs and got to work rebuilding this old shower. Lots of customizing in older homes, but we removed all the shower walls and opened it up, re-routed some duct work, installed new walls and a MAXX corner shower. The client offered to take care of the painting so we could move on to the next project!

Today we assisted Reep Green with assembling a mud sill for a hoop house that will eventually be a tree nursery. What a hot day it was today, only had 4L of water with me and should have brought more but we got it done! Just waiting for the hoop house structure to arrive in the fall.

We will be on vacation, returning June 19th.

Here’s a deck that someone put plywood on, then covered it in vinyl. Water eventually got under the vinyl and rotted it out to the point that it was unsafe to walk on. Took three of us to strip the vinyl off, then pulled the screws out, discovered they also put 1/8” subfloor on top of the chip board and glued that down too. Railing and stairs were also in rough shape so we replaced everything. It looks great now and for many years to come!

And that’s a wrap on my stairs to the back yard! Now to tidy up the landscaping and grow some actual grass in n stead o...
