A new kitchen. Beautiful cabinetry. Thoughtfully selected hardwoods.
These are often the investments we plan for when building a new home or taking on a major renovation.
But the part that quietly transforms a house into a home?
The furnishings.
The sofa where your family gathers every evening. The dining table that hosts birthdays and holiday dinners. The artwork, textures, lighting, and layers that tell your story and make a space feel unmistakably yours.
When I first started INDEX Design Studio, furnishings were something I often stepped away from. I thought my role ended once the renovation was complete.
Over the years, that perspective has completely changed.
The deeper I’ve become involved in my clients’ homes, the more I’ve realized that furnishings aren’t the finishing touch. They’re the piece that brings everything to life.
They’re what protect the investment you’ve made in your renovation by ensuring every decision works together as one cohesive vision. They create warmth, comfort, personality, and connection. They turn beautifully designed rooms into homes that truly reflect the people who live there.
It’s become one of my favourite parts of the design process.
Because seeing a project all the way through, right down to the final pillow, the perfect chair, and the styling that makes a room feel lived in, is where the magic happens.
