Vintage Garden Roots With the growing demand for locally grown organic flowers we decided to venture into the world of cut flowers.

We want to provide our community in the North Cowichan Valley with a nice selection of cut flower bouquets and seedlings for their own gardens.

Getting very excited for our second year cut-flower garden. We already have many seedlings growing and I am making sure they survive until they are ready to be planted out. Now that we have figured out what we are planting and when they should be about ready as well as price point we are offering a limited amount of CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture)
I do grow 90% of my flowers using organic practices, and I forage materials needed from nature using ethical practices.

1) 4 week Spring CSA - $110
2) 17 Week Summer CSA - $340
3) 9 Bi-Weekly Summer CSA - $190
4) 6 Bi-Weekly Sunflower CSA - $120

The CSA's will begin when mother nature decides it's time for the flowers to bloom so we will show her the patience she has shown us.
The Spring bouquets will include a combination of or one type of flower: Tulips, Daffodils, Ranunculus Anemones, Alliums and whatever other surprises may bloom in my garden.
Approximate dates are April - May. We will give you a 1 - 2 week notice before the first bouquets shares begin.
Summer Bouquets will begin in June and end by October
Sunflower Bouquets will begin mid- July - Mid October

Things are growing well. I am experimenting with some flower varieties, a couple have been challenging. Pictured below are snapdragons, coleus, calendula, anemone, columbine, dianthus, juncus spiralis and ranunculus.
I could have started anemones and ranunculus from corms but I like to live dangerously

I just realized I didn't take pictures of my 13 lisianthus colour varieties I am growing this year. They will be Spectacular and tequire constant care as it takes forever for them to grow.

A happy update on what is growing in my grow room.
Lisianthus doing well, coleus is up, snapdragons are loving it and some juncus spiralis grass.
Last night I started more varieties. Soon all 3 shelves will be full of seedlings waiting for spring planting.
These all will make beautiful flower arrangements as well as wonderful plants in your garden.

Lisianthus seeds have been sowed. Babies are germinating. This will take a long time to grow, but they are well worth it.
Next up was Ranunculus just waiting on germination for these.

Now I will have for sale Juncus Effusus Spiralis and Juncus Filiformis Spiralis plants for sale once they are big enough to transplant into 4" pots. I don't know how many will grow but send me a DM if interested and I will keep list on a First Come basis. These are not my pictures. They are almost similar it seems except for twists and shade of green

Sorry I have not been active in the last few months. But I am excited to say I am back at it. Will be starting seeding this week and going thru my seed haul purchase that arrived while I was away. Can't tell you all how exciting this is to look thru the many amazing varieties I will be growing. There are 163 seed packets in there. I will not only be growing for fresh cut flower bouquets, but this year I am including some preorders of certain flower plugs.
Stay tuned. For now all my lisianthus varieties will be availab for preorder.
Here is that list. $10/6pack of same variety.
You still have time to preorder as they will get started this week and ready for spring pick up. These plants are slow growers but well worth the wait.
