This Hytec acrylic tub and shower surround was accidentally damaged while other trades were working in the bathroom. Something was dropped and took a chunk out of the corner of the armrest — about the size of a quarter.

Using a professional 3-step repair process including filling, sanding, and a custom airbrushed color-match coating, we were able to blend the repair seamlessly into the original finish.

Check out the before and after photos — you’d never know the damage was ever there.

I often inform my customers that I don't typically recommend resurfacing kitchen sinks. The coatings we use are primarily designed for bathtub resurfacing and may not be as resistant to knives, forks, and other sharp objects as they are to bare feet in a tub.

Despite this, I still resurface a few kitchen sinks each year. Sometimes it's the only option for the customer, or they assure me they will be extra careful. I recently restored a unique, older sink with rust stains using a different technique. Instead of spraying on coatings, I acid-washed it and restored the gloss with a sealer. This method aims to revive the original finish of the sink.

The potential drawbacks of this approach include the visibility of any existing stress cracks, as seen in this particular sink, and the possibility of minor imperfections that would typically be addressed with spray-on coatings. However, this sink turned out beautifully, and most importantly, the customer is very happy with the result.
