An accessibility minded covered deck for an injured worker.

We received a call from WorkSafe BC to assist an injured worker moving from BC to Ontario to make their new home wheelchair accessible.

Although small in size, the scope was bigger than meets the eye. We had to:

- Demolish the old deck
- Repair the severely rotted framing under the addition
- Dig up the frozen ground to install helical piles for the deck
- Pour a reinforced slab for the new lift
- Framed the covered deck with a premium joist protection membrane for longevity
- Ran 3 new electrical circuits for the pot lights and outlets, new automatic door, and new chair platform elevator
- Install low slope application ice & water membrane + shingles
- Create custom bent aluminum capping & flashings
- Install custom privacy screen sections to mitigate wind driven rain and snow on to the lift
- Install new aluminum VistaRail railings
- Replace old patio door with new steel automatic opening swing door with zero threshold plates
- Install new Vertical Platform Lift for wheelchair access from house to deck to driveway

We'd like to thank WorkSafe BC for trusting us on this collaboration from such a long distance and hope we made our clients life easier on a daily basis with the accessibility upgrades.

Exterior remodel on our wonderful clients' houses in Cornwall.

We demolished the old front porch, removed two layers of old siding, air sealed & installed 1inch foam insulation on the exterior, built the new engineered 3' overhang with snap-lock metal roofing, installed new board & batten LP Smart Side siding, custom flashings, soffit & fascia and finally the new floating deck with custom privacy/decorative walls.

We also sprayed the remainder of the house with colour matching paint to match the new siding.
