There is no simple or easy way to say this, so I'm going to do this like pulling a band-aid.
Carl's Family Christmas Tree Lot will not be opening this year.
We have faced some great challenges this year and did not make this decision lightly or with little thought.
I cannot say what the future holds, however for right now, this is the decision we needed to make.
Thank you to all my grandfather's favorite people. He was always so happy to spend time doing trees and it meant the world to him that you all came back every year, several returned for decades, and would only buy a tree from Carl hahahaha
Tony and Peter (and Family) at Expressway, you are family to us. Thank you for your patience with us. We are a stubborn people but you never stuttered when it came to your kindness and generosity. Thank you.
I can say a thousand words right now but need to end this somewhere, so again, thank you to everyone.
Our little tree lot would have been nothing without any of you. Please don't forget us, because we certainly will never forget any of you.

It is with profound sadness that we must announce the passing of Carl V Sheffer.
Carl (also know as “Gug” in our family) passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours on May 5 2024.
Our family is filled with sadness for the loss of our patriarch and know this will leave a space in our souls that we cannot fill.
The Christmas tree lot was a passion for my grandfather and found great joy being “in the thick of it” during our peak season. He was always unquestionably excited to see HIS customers and friends year after year.
There will be a funeral service on Tuesday May 14. Details are in the link below for his Obituary. This will be an open funeral service, so please, if you feel like coming to say a goodbye to the Legend, you will be welcomed with open arms.

Happy weekend everyone!
We are open today until 8pm and tomorrow 9am-8pm.
Weather depending, tomorrow will probably be our last day open this year so I'm dropping the pricing to get these trees into a good home.
Our pricing is as follows :
All trees over 7 foot $45
6-7 foot is $35
Everything else (including my rack of misfit trees) is $5/foot (to a max of $35)
Wreaths are $15 and I have one outdoor tree left for $30.

I hope everyone has recovered from the storm yesterday!
I've been moving things around on the tree lot today.
We only have a handful of trees that are over 7foot left but we have plenty of trees left in the 6-7 foot range!
With it being 2 weeks to Christmas and stock getting low, I've altered our pricing a bit to account for the smaller trees.
Everything OVER 7 foot is $55. (We have a couple beautiful 9 foot trees remaining)
6-7 foot is $45
5-6 foot is $35
Everything UNDER 5 foot is $5/foot.

We also have some wreaths left that we will be selling for $15!

We are fully stocked for the weekend with trees, bundles of boughs, and wreaths 😊 🎄
We are open now, and every day from 9am - 8pm until Dec 23rd or until we sell out.

We have been rained out for the night. We have some flooding in the back of the lot and trees keep getting blown over.
We will be open again at 9am sharp tomorrow.
Sorry if we put a dent in anyone's plans tonight, but it's really a hot drink, fluffy blanket, and a movie kind of night.

I feel it is my responsibility to let all our customers know that we had no choice but to raise our pricing.
I crunched numbers until late last night to make sure I had all my variables (Labor, transport, fuel, equipment...etc.)
I have kept the pricing as low as possible.
The new pricing is below

Under 4 foot is $20
4 - 4'11 =$30
5 - 5'11 = $45
6 - 6'11 = $55
7 - 7'11 = $65
8 - 8'11 = $75
9 - 9'11 = $90
10 and up = $10/feet

Thank you so much for being the best customers ever and I completely respect the fact that these prices may be too much for some people and I am sorry for that.

I have been notified that I am late on informing everyone of our opening date this year!
We will be opening for our regular hours on Saturday November 18. Our hours will remain the same with 9am-8pm every day until Dec 23 or until we sell out of trees.
It has been a heck of a year and I'm soooo pumped to get back to the Christmas tree lot at 107 Woodlawn Rd!
I cannot wait to see everyone and hear all the stories!
As a side note; I know NS does not recognize Remembrance Day as a statutory holiday, but please take the time on Nov 11th and attend a Remembrance Day Ceremony.
As a woman from a long line of military family history and a former military member myself, we should all take time to recognize the sacrifices these honorable people have made and continue to make every single day. ❤️ you all have my deepest respect.
