For the last few years, one of our Runner ducks has gone broody every summer and naturally, earned herself the name Mama.

She’s never had any luck hatching her own eggs… UNTIL NOW! 🐣💛

Last weekend, we found this little surprise wandering around our duck coop! Somehow, Mama finally hatched herself a baby. 🥹

It’s been so sweet watching the two of them bond this week and seeing Mama truly live up to her namesake. 🦆💕

Now we need a name for this unexpected little addition to the flock!

🌸 Zinnia season— bringing ALL the colour to the garden! ✨

Bright, cheerful, and blooming their little hearts out. One of my favourite late summer flowers for bouquets and the bees love to use them as a comfy place to sleep!

One of my favourite flowers to grow & work with 💐

The tiny papery blooms keep their beautiful colour long after drying. Whether it’s tucked into a bouquet, into a wreath, or displayed on its own, statice adds texture, colour, and lasts for months (or even years!).

Obsessed with the quality of our alpaca fleece this year! 🤍🦙

We made some nutritional changes to our feeding program over the winter, and the difference is incredible. The fleece is so much softer, and has such a beautiful crimp. I’m convinced this is the softest thing you’ll ever feel!

These photos are from skirting day. Skirting is the process of removing any coarse fibres, vegetable matter, and lower-quality sections from the fleece before it’s sent away to be professionally processed. It’s a bit of a messy job, but it’s one of the most important steps in creating beautiful, high-quality yarn.

Now it’s all packed up and ready to head off for processing. I can’t wait to see it come back as gorgeous yarn! 🧶
