Martin is a steady and trusted presence in the studio. As a Senior Technologist, he brings a deep understanding of building systems and a calm, methodical approach to every project. His work is thoughtful, precise, and always grounded in a strong sense of responsibility.

Beyond the technical side, Martin is someone who brings quiet humour, patience, and a generous spirit to the team. We’re lucky to have him, and we’re proud to mark this milestone together.

Designed for High Intensity — Lloydminster Fire Station No.1

With growing demands and limited space in the former station, the City of Lloydminster partnered with ACI to deliver a new 1,650 m² facility that brings durability, safety, and well-being together in one high-functioning, future-ready space.

Completed in 2022, the design features three drive-through apparatus bays, a dedicated training tower, gear wash and storage zones, and flexible support spaces. Every aspect of the layout was carefully considered to enhance operational readiness, safety, and long-term adaptability.

At its core, this project delivers a space that works as hard as the people inside it — resilient, responsive, and built to serve.

ACI is thrilled to congratulate Dane Santos on successfully passing the ExAC (Examination for Architects in Canada)! This achievement is a significant milestone, demonstrating the expertise and dedication she has developed throughout her internship on her path to becoming a registered architect with the AAA.

A graduate of the University of Calgary in 2020, Dane has been a valued member of our team since 2022. Her perseverance and commitment continue to inspire us, and we couldn’t be prouder of her accomplishments. We look forward to celebrating her next big step as she reaches the final stage of her professional journey!

On September 13th, the Saville Family Beach and the Enchanted Forest at the Stollery Children's Hospital celebrated their official grand opening. These spaces play a crucial role in the therapeutic journey for the children and families who rely on the Stollery, and ACI is incredibly proud to have contributed to bringing this inspiring vision to life.

The renovations to the indoor Beach area have more than doubled the play space, incorporating medical play zones, an accessible kitchen, and offering new daily programming opportunities. The Enchanted Forest takes the fun outdoors, featuring a fully accessible playground complete with a teepee, musical instruments, and other interactive elements.

These newly expanded and revitalized play areas create a magical environment where kids can simply be kids, even amidst challenging and stressful times. We invite you to watch the Global News story below to learn more about this exciting project.

This week, we celebrated a significant milestone dear to us: Darryl Rewniak's 25th year at ACI.

Darryl's journey with ACI began in 1999 as a technologist with a passion for creating impeccable working drawings. His unwavering dedication soon paid off, and just four years later, in 2003, he became a partner of the firm. This promotion marked a pivotal change in his role, transforming him from a valued team member into the very heart of ACI. Those who know Darryl well, know that beneath the tough exterior is a kind and compassionate leader that takes care of his team without hesitation.

After (many, many) years of hard work and perseverance, Darryl completed the NCARB Examinations to become a registered architect with the AAA.. Today, he is our resident expert in school and healthcare projects, offering a wealth of knowledge in both areas. His early ambitions as a technologist are still evident in his relentless pursuit of high-quality technical documents, and he exemplifies the definition of a businessman with an exceptional knack for numbers.

Throughout his 25 years at ACI, Darryl has grown into a mentor, leader, and friend to many. We are all immensely grateful for the invaluable experience and expertise he shares, the acronyms that he makes up (and graces us with daily), and his abundantly generous spirit. Thank you, Darryl, for your countless contributions that have shaped ACI into the firm we are all proud to be a part of today.
